Media Center (Library)

Welcome to the Harding Elementary School Media Center!

Harding School is pleased to announce the district has transformed the Library into a 21st Century Inquiry Center. Students will be taking out books as well as focusing on STEAM applications (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics). The integration of STEAM and literature allows the children to experience the story on multiple levels. They will be engaged listeners, as well as engaged problem solvers.

In addition to inquiry based learning the media center will provide opportunities for the students to participate in Maker Spaces.  Maker Education allows students to discover, invent, and understand through “making.”  Students will be required to be problem solvers, team players, and independent thinkers. They will explore inquiry through books, computers, and tinkering. From Legos to Robots, Maker space allows them to explore without judgement or fear of making mistakes. Students will also discuss Digital Citizenship, be introduced to keyboarding and learn about basic software fundamentals. Our Media center will provide a link for developing a life-long love of learning and reading.

Students in grades K-6 also have Google accounts.  They can use these accounts to access information in their Google drive or Google classrooms.
