7th Grade World History Mastery List

Time Frame

Students will have mastered the following:

September – January

1. Analyze how archaeology helps scientists learn about ancient civilizations.
2. Analyze early civilizations (Islamic, Chinese, Japanese, Mesoamerica contributions to world civilizations.
3. Determine how rules of law have impacted civilizations throughout the world.
4. Master note-taking by using outline form and graphic organizer.
5. Explore current events and apply to the past lessons.
   

February - June

1. Determine the elements which distinguished one culture from another.
2. Locate the early African kingdoms and products that were traded.
3. Explain the importance of trade and its consequences.
4. Determine which events led to the rise and eventual decline of European feudalism.(Middle Ages)
   
5. Explain how religion and culture are connected through the study of (Hinduism, Buddhism, Taoism, Judaism, Christianity, Islam and Polytheistic religions)
6. Utilize writing skills to construct well written essays, focusing on prewriting organizer, sentence structure, and paragraph development.
7. Explain the spread of new ideas during the Renaissance, the Reformation and the Age of Exploration.
