April 10, 2024: Mr. Arlington announces his resignation as Superintendent of Schools.   

 

April 11, 2024: The superintendent vacancy is posted internally and externally on Frontline https://www.applitrack.com/kenilworthschools/onlineapp/.   Advertisements are placed in professional, education and general interest publications.

 

April 18, 2024: An online survey is distributed to stakeholders and the school community to solicit input regarding district strengths and issues, and to establish criteria and credentials for the new superintendent.

April 29, 2024: The Board outlines the Search Process publicly at the Public Budget Hearing.

May 1, 2024: Online survey deadline.

 

May 5, 2024: Application deadline.

 

April 22 to May 6, 2024: Resumes will be reviewed based on the criteria and profile established by the Board and organized into three groups; does not meet minimum criteria; meets minimum criteria; exceeds criteria.

May 6, 2024: Board’s Steering Committee Selects 12 candidates for 1st Round interviews.

May 8 & 9, 2024: Board’s Steering Committee conducts first round interviews via Zoom.

 

May 15 & 16, 2024: Full Board conducts second round interviews.

 

May 29, 2024: Full Board conducts final interviews, receives clearance from finalists for reference checks, and selects a finalist.  A copy of the proposed employment contract between the Board and the final candidate will be submitted to the Executive County Superintendent of Schools, and must receive final approval prior to acceptance by the Board.

 

June 19, 2024: After receiving approval of the employment contract from the Executive County Superintendent of Schools, the Board will vote on the employment contract between it and the new Superintendent of Schools.

 

August 20, 2024: Proposed start date for the new Superintendent of schools to begin work in the District.  (Please note that this date may need to be adjusted based upon a number of factors, including but not limited to, contract negotiations, the review timeline of the Executive County Superintendent of Schools, and any notice period the candidate must provide to his/her current employer).
