Annual Notifications Update

  Annual Notifications

September 27, 2019

Dear Parents/Guardians:

As we advance Future Ready practices in our district, many of which rely on a greater integration of technology in our classrooms, I would be remiss if I did not acknowledge that technology can never replace the power of inter/intra personal skills.  To help teach these skills, I encourage you and your family to celebrate "National Unplugged Day" tomorrow, Saturday, September 28th.  What a great opportunity to put down our phones and devices and model for our kids the power of face-to-face interaction perhaps by breaking out a favorite board game.  (Disney Princesses Candyland is a popular one right now in my house.) Or perhaps celebrate by dusting off a beloved book and talking about it together. (My personal favorites are Ethan Frome by Edith Wharton and one of Toni Morrison’s lesser acclaimed novels Jazz.   I’m a sap for sad endings.)

If you’re more of a fan of informational text, this update is for you.  Included below are some annual notifications that we are required to share by law.  Please read them as a way of staying informed of our policies and procedures and keeping abreast of school district information to which you are entitled.  Additional information we are required to share can be found in our school handbooks online.
