Spelling Words

Second Grade Spelling and Vocabulary Words

Our weekly spelling words are given in the beginning of each story.  The first 12 words are words that follow a specific rule for the week.  Words 13-16 are a combination of high frequency words and/or vocabulary words that students should be able to read and spell in their writing

Our vocabulary words are also introduced at the beginning of each story.  The words are reviewed daily through various vocabulary activities.  Students are expected to be able to use the words appropriately in sentences.
