About Me

Hello!  Here is a little bit about me!

I graduated from Montclair State University in 2007 with my degree in Family and Child Studies. I have been teaching Second Grade at Harding since 2010.  I am passionate about many things; teaching, our Earth, my students in Uganda, and of course my own family. I live in Morristown with my husband Erik and our daughters Maggie and Cate.  Maggie is off to First Grade this Fall and Cate will be one in January.  I love sharing the world with my students and opening their eyes to all that is around them.  My room is a very green room. We learn all about reducing our trash, reusing what we can, and recycling most everything!  I think it is so important that kids understand at an early age how precious our one and only Earth is!  Another passion of mine is educating and lifting students out of poverty specifically in Uganda. I spend time over three summers (2008, 2009, 2010) volunteering in Nansana, Uganda in a primary school. Over the course of those three years, I worked with a non-profit organization and we funded the building of a high school.  I currently run the high school student sponsorship program.  My students will be familiar with Eva, my sponsored student as she is part of my family!  When I am not teaching, raising awareness about Uganda, singing in my church choir, or volunteering in my community, you will find me curled up with a book and my daughters.  Our cat Abby the Tabby is always close by, often causing mischief!
