DBMHS Pick Up/Drop Off Procedures

Dear DBMHS Families,

I hope this email reaches everyone in good health and good spirits. Many students have reached out to school in regards to retrieving their belongings from their main locker and gym locker. In an effort to keep the processed organized and in accordance with COVID-19 regulations, we have developed the following procedure for picking up materials and dropping off school resources.

You are asked to label with your child’s name, grade, and teacher, any items that your child has at home that belong to the school, such as instruments, textbooks, and other resources. These will be returned on your designated day and time into bins separated by content area. They will be collected at a later date. At the same time, we will provide you your students’ personal belongings from their main locker and/or gym locker to be exchanged per the designated pick-ups/drop-offs.

Retrieving Your Child’s Materials:

Parents/guardians can come to Brearley to retrieve their child’s belongings, but the process will commence on Monday, June 29th.  During the item retrieval process, student belongings will be placed in boxes or bags. Items will be placed on the tables by the back student entrance to Brearley (Door #7 – the door where students enter school in the mornings).

·         Please make every effort to come to school at the times and dates that are provided.  If there are any concerns, please contact the school to make alternative arrangements.

·         You must wear a mask and adhere to social distancing guidelines (6ft apart).

·         Please note: you may have a friend or neighbor pick up/drop off your child’s items in the event you are unable to come during our scheduled times.

Dropping Off School-owned Materials:

At the same time you are scheduled to pick-up your child’s belongings, we ask that you return all school items.

·         School-owned items can be dropped off into specific content area bins.

·         Prior to dropping off items, please label the items with their name, their grade, and the teacher’s name, and then place them in the appropriate bin.

·         Again, parents/guardians must wear a mask and must adhere to social distancing.

Here are some of the items that should be dropped off:

·         Library books

·         Classroom books

·         Independent reading books

·         Calculators for math

·         Textbooks

·         School-owned materials such as instruments and art supplies
